Our client saw a market opportunity. A famous coffee grinder, one of the best-selling in the world, has a characteristic that many consider a problem. During coffee grinding, when using the espresso filter holder, a considerable amount of ground coffee is scattered outside the filter, often thrown away from the grinder. Our client saw the opportunity to develop an accessory for this grinder, which would contain the ground coffee, allowing it to be delivered only to the filter.

Among the requirements, the accessory had to be made of plastic using an injection process, meet the requirements of products in the food sector, in addition to having a harmonious look with the coffee grinder.

The project story:

The Enflexus experts involved in the project developed the accessory in an elegant and clean way.

 

All requirements were exhaustively studied, different materials evaluated, as well as the best design to be produced by injection.

​

Regarding the visual aspect, Enflexus conducted quantitative and qualitative research, focused on the audience prioritized by the client. The results of this research guided the final design of the product.

​

As the design matured, many tests were carried out with prototypes in order to verify their functionality and shape. This product refinement process reduces development time and increases the quality of the final product.

 

 

Results: 

 

The result was a single-piece accessory, interchangeable with the original filter holder, which meets all the product's requirements and, in addition to being beautiful, appears to have been developed together with the original product.
